 PERSONAL TRAINING

Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, tone, increase strength or agility, feel and look better, or condition for a favorite sport I can help you reach your goals. Regardless of age or health, a unique personal fitness program will be designed for you based on solid science.  You are unique, and your anatomical structure, genetic makeup, past experiences, motivation and learned behaviors all impact your training.   Through your work with a professional trainer you will reach your goals quicker, and more safely, while enjoying the process.  Maintenance of your new lifestyle is critical and requires knowledge and direction not easily learned from classes or tapes.  A specific plan will be created based on your body type, health status and personal objectives.  It will include elements of physical, nutritional and sometimes emotional behavior modification and discipline.

Also, improving your quality of life, as an educator, motivator and designer of personalized fitness programs, is paramount. And the long-term health benefits of good nutrition as well as improving your strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness are addressed in every individualized program.  Inspiring and training women of all ages and fitness levels, my mission is to reinforce to every woman that she may maintain a busy schedule and still sustain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Above all, my enthusiasm and passion for women's well-being enables me to utilize a comprehensive approach when tending to client's personal fitness goals and needs.                          - Sonya E Mitchell, ACE Nationally Certified Personal Trainer

"Functional fitness is the latest gym buzzword. The purpose and focus of functional fitness is to build a body capable of doing real-life activities in real-life positions, not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealized posture created by a machine at the gym. Conventional weight training isolates muscle groups, but doesn't teach the muscle groups you're isolating to work together with others. The key to functional exercising is integration. It's about teaching all the muscles to work together, rather than isolating them to work independently."    -Sonya Mitchell
